Vineyard dispatch:

At Champagne Serge Pierlot, Ambonnay, Champagne

Our “Vineyard Dispatches” are quick and spontaneous updates on what’s been happening in the vineyards and wine regions, live from our wine tours, or “almost live” on what we did a little while ago on one of our wine adventures. Mainly with photos from our travels in vineyards, wineries and wine regions. A glimpse from us from the wine country explorers. You could have been with us!

Sometimes travel is the cause of curious coincidences. Early this year we were travelling in Soiuth Africa, visiting Gabrielskloof Wine Estate. I happened to start talking to a woman sitting there tasting a few wines all on her own. It turned out to be one of the sisters now running Champagne Serge Pierlot in Ambonnay. One thing led to another so on the wine tour this autumn we visited Champagne Serge Pierlot. Marie and Lucie told us a fascinating story of how a small family-run house is developing, how they work with the cooperative and what their plans are for the future.

Why not join us on one of our upcoming tours?! You will travel with some of the world’s most experienced wine tour organisers and wine writers, Britt and Per Karlsson, founders of BKWine; creating world-leading wine tours since more than 20 years and internationally award winning authors of 13 wine books.
