Vineyard dispatch:

Great visit to Luis Seabra Winery in the Douro Valley

Our “Vineyard Dispatches” are quick and spontaneous updates on what’s been happening in the vineyards and wine regions, live from our wine tours, or “almost live” on what we did a little while ago on one of our wine adventures. Mainly with photos from our travels in vineyards, wineries and wine regions. A glimpse from us from the wine country explorers. You could have been with us!

More “Vineyard Dispatch” here.

Far up in the Douro Valley, a few kilometres from the town of São João de Pesqueira, is the winery of Luis Seabra, a famous winemaker who worked for many years with Dirk Niepoort.
We did a fun and very informative tasting from barrels and from bottles with the assistant winemakers Pedro and Fred. Very fresh, very fruity, very delicious wines. And some rare single variety wines, for instance a 100 % marufo (also called mourisco). Here, no port wines. Luis Seabra wants to show the quality of the dry Douro wines.

Why not join us on one of our upcoming tours?! You will travel with some of the world’s most experienced wine tour organisers and wine writers, Britt and Per Karlsson, founders of BKWine; creating world-leading wine tours since more than 20 years and internationally award winning authors of 13 wine books.
