Indeed it does. A wine tour in Tuscany often starts in Florence. That's a great opportunity for an evening walk. Perhaps a pizza and a glass of wine (or two).

Florence is a*very* popular tourist destination so there's always lots of people. It can be nice to walk to “the other side” of the River Arno. Less crowds but just as charming. And still very lively. And the next day you can head out to the vineyards.
